Mixed Media Artist Statement. Artist statement i always felt art was something that linked our essence with our physical being. Art must be filled with strong emotional content and be based on the perception, expectations and experiences of the artist.
Printmaking, ceramics, photography, encaustic, site specific environmental installations/sculpture, mixed. I am interested in portraying the body in an abstract and distorted manner for visual and conceptual purposes, challenging society’s view on feminine beauty. To her i would eternally be the young girl needing guidance onto the religious path she walked in life.
To me, a true work of art can be described as a juxtaposition of complexity and simplicity.
