In hindsight, it sounds a bit sad and pathetic, but i think it coincided with a very stressful point in my life and i was desperately trying to find a way to escape and distract myself from things that were going on in my life. I’m a writer and i shouldn’t look a gift horse in the mouth, but i wanted to be an artist too. Fifty years ago an art career was not generally to be considered for a woman.
